Sundance Maxxus Problem
« on: December 03, 2012, 09:02:51 am »
I've only had my hot tub for a couple months but have suddenly started having a strange problem with it over the last 7-10 days.  I'll come home from work and the Sundance logo on the front will be red.  Opening up the cover reveals the display simply saying '---'.  If I kill the power at the outdoor box, wait about a minute, then turn it back on, the hot tub boots up normally (and doesn't seem to have gotten any cooler--temp still at 104*).  This then happens again a day or two later.

Any advice?

We'll be over later today to take a look.
Please confirm that there is a service
disconnect outside.

I'm assuming no power interruptions? I did learn my Sundance holds the temperature setting during a power glitch. I wouldn't have known I had a couple of power glitches except for the battery in the UPS on my home theater system is dead.  Went out and checked the hot tub as was my custom because my Dynasty defaulted to 95F. Each time the tub was still set at my desired 104.

None to my knowledge.  Just stopped home at lunch and looks like All Seasons had already stopped by and changed the "wheel" filter.  Would that cause this?

All that was needed was a filter switch.
The old filter was somewhat clogged, which
created an intermittent low-flow situation that
triggered the sensors to display the error code(s).
