Jacuzzi 200 vs 300 series
« on: April 18, 2012, 02:24:10 pm »
Hello,

I have been reading here a couple of weeks and have not seen this subject directly addressed.

Just bought a 235 and want to see if there is anything additional in difference between these jacuzzi series.  I am aware of the different jets, circ pump, bottom pan construction, and warantee.  I just could not justify the $2200 difference since we already were pushing our desired price point to get to the jacuzzi.  I started out thinking 4k at costco would be it, then we went to a watsons and were over 5k for a cabana cove spa we almost bought.  The 235 is just a few hundred more than the cabana cove and I feel more comfortable with the jacuzzi name and hopefully build quality.

Do you really give up much of the "jacuzzi experience" with the 200 series jets?  And is it safe to assume the build quality that comes with jacuzzi is still there in their entry level products?

Yes they are different but both are built very well.  I have a J-235 running on the floor on it seems to be a very good spa.  Least I have no complaints on the ones I have sold.  More J-245s though.

Was all set to get the 245 till the last moment and the wife said she wanted the lounger.  I was a little hesitant about the 245's dome causing issues with kids jumping around.

I have seen a picture depicting the zones covered by the pumps for older models, is there current data for the J235?  I am planning the electrical connections and wondering about the differences between the 50 and 60 amp setups.  I will probably go with the 60 because I am starting from scratch and the only difference I see would be a couple of hardware choices and I would opt for 6ga wire either way.  Also, what has to be done to the spa to allow the different operation based on the wiring options?
