If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.

It's even funnier if you meet the guys that run the sales end of Softub! They look and sound like they are right out of the Sopranos!

Seriously, what I thought I had typed was...We had a customer bring in a pack that was several years old, the wiring was pulled loose so I tried to look up a schematic in my service manual then I called the factory who put me with a service tech that said he had never worked on a spa but only handeled service questions on the phone.

He said he would have to get in touch with an engineer to help me and would call me right back. After 4 days of me calling him back he called back and said the reason he never called me back was that they no longer supported that spa and he didn't want to tell me that.

I have tons of stories like that with softub!! I cringe when someone brings one in for service because 1 out of every 2 have rodent damage and getting parts is a nightmare on anything older than 2 years!

When I first started selling them, they had two jets. TWO. And we sold them based on the extreme power of those two jets - we told people that if there were four, it would only dilute the power by half.

Then I unwrapped one in a customer's backyard and there were four jets.

If I was told a tub would be ready for pickup on Thursday, it meant "some time between opening and closing time on Thursday." But don't come Friday! Your tub could be gone to some other dealer. And yet, if I got there midday on Thursday, and my tub wasn't ready to go, I could NEVER get one from some other dealer's load... ever.

Parts? What parts! I would order from somebody - anybody - else.

Former HotSpring Dealer - Southern Cal.
