water escape?
« on: October 09, 2010, 04:51:12 pm »
I have a new Hotspring Jetsetter.  I use it everyday.  Every month my water level drops an inch ir two.  Is this common.  I'm guessing some comes out when I get out in my shorts and some escapes while I'm in there, but is this a little excessive?

A inch or 2 in a month would probably be less than normal, sounds like your fine.

We lose about that amount monthly due to evaporation, water on the body as we exit the spa, cleaning, etc.   We have the hose handy to add the inch or two whenever necessary.

Enjoy your spa!

I haven't looked under the skirt of a jetsetter before, but if it isn't too bad to remove, it may be worthwhile to look just to see if there is any sign of a leak on the inside. If not, you can feel a little better.

I've heard it estimated that you will lose approx 1 gallon of water each time 2 people exit the spa with suits on. Add to that the water that is on the underneath of the cover that is lost when you open the cover to use the spa and I'd say your water loss is normal.  :)
If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.
