What About The POD?
« on: July 31, 2009, 04:48:47 pm »
In this thread (http://www.whatsthebest-hottub.com/forum/index.php?topic=12345.0) there has been a little discussion regarding the POD.

As one of the many contributors to this type of thread, I am wondering what the consensus is regarding the resurgence of the POD?

Also, what are the guidelines if this is agreed to be rekindled?  The reason I ask this...there were certainly some POD's that slipped over the edge and were justifiably removed...there were others that were removed that didn't seem too bad to me.  Perhaps I have a warped sense of judgement.

I'm not looking to offend, just entertain.

The POD was very popular and I have to say that I miss them. :'(
If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.

The mods and I have talked about it and decided that the forum will allow "PG, hot tub themed" pictures to be posted in the POD.

From a moderation standpoint this is has historically been the biggest headache on the site.  Trying to define "the line" is difficult so we are putting the rating level at PG rather than PG13 to help make decisions clean cut.  We would much rather have the mods fighting spam and helping people rather than scratching their heads about which pictures should be allowed to stay.

For those of you that post PODs - I would encourage you to not be offended if a moderator deletes your picture. It is simply their job.

Thanks all.

Now, if I just had that power over TV commercials, smiling Bob would be history.

I have to admit, I'm not sure where the line is between PG and PG13.  But, I'll try my best not to cross that line whenever I post a POD.  Please try not to get too upset with me if I cross that line...just delete it and we'll move on to the next one.

Thanks...

It's easy, just imagine the picture being your daughter...and if you have no problem with the forum guys viewing her picture..then you are probably just fine.  ;)

Since I only have 3 sons I'll volunteer to be the one to decide what is appropriate to post.
