"We're having our company Christmas party tonight"

#1. Will Holly be there at the Christmas Party?

#2. Are you wearing shorts today? Isn't it in the freaking 40's in Tyler today?

#3. That was a big ole east texas boy in over-alls just came in your store!

#1  No sir, just wives tonight, except for mine.

#2  Yes sir.  I have large calves and long pants make me look stumpy.  Plus, I'm fat and get hot.

#3  He was a big ol' fella.  His brother bought a spa from me several years ago.  He, on the other hand, had a pool built by our local pool/spa conman who "threw in" a Sunbelt Spa as part of the package.  Unfortunately, he didn't include a cover in the deal.

I was referring him to Dr. Spa to help a brother out since it is supposed to be below freezing tonight.

Did you see Tamale Girl?  She and her mamacita come around every couple of weeks and feed me.  Got a dozen porkun's today.

Thank you for tuning in.

Now THAT was how to take care of an angry customer.

Comes in and first words out of her mouth were "I am NOT HAPPY!"

Asked why not happy, listened to reply, sympathized, examined, reassured, demonstrated, called service tech for advice, explained remedy, listened, and then got a hug from a happy customer.

Ya know Term I have learned alot about business from my brother over the last few years

the best lesson he ever taught me as how to deal with an angry client

he said "let them blow"....don't interupt....let them vent and vent and vent
if it's on the phone....dont say a word while they are venting except the occasional
"yes mam" or "oh my" just to let them know you are still on the line and listening

they are looking for a fight or argument.....dont give them their wish
brings new meaning to "silence is golden"

they eventually run outta gas if you let them go on and on
many times they start repeating the same details thinking it will enhance the story
they are like a fighter that punches themselves out....they are gassed

but just let them ramble and be a great concerned attentive LISTENER

then "be on their side....make them feel....you feel their pain"

usually they quickly dis-arm
they want someone to listen....be concerned in this era when nobody cares

soon they will be "eating out of your hand"

he says "an angry customer is an opportunity to solidify a life long customer because
anyone can deal with a happy customer....but it takes skill to handle an angry customer....and if you do it right.....they will be loyal and a customer for life".

i have gotten good at this....although hopefully it's a rare happening

hey what are big bothers for.....except to teach ya stuff!

 ;)

Your brother is absolutely right and that is exceptionally good advice.  I have seen many people over the years get their dander up and start making the customer out to be wrong.  That is a disaster in the making.

Now, if someone comes in cussin' and acting like a jackass, that's a different story.  I'll thell them to smack my crack and poot off.

Look at that goatsmellin' wind blow!  It has got to be gusting at 40+ mph.  I got to go take my banners down before they blow all the way to Red Lobster!

Sold a Sovereign to that fellow in here earlier.  He was on the BeBackBus!

Haha - just saw you Term, talking to a customer in a long sleeve white shirt, then fidgeting with the hot tubs on the deck before you pointedly looked up at Camera 3.  Yes, we are here!  *cue twilight zone music*

Hey...T-Lady..where ya been?...I was thinking about you the other day....how are things with your tub and the switch to bromine??

Tub's been sitting, unoccupied for the last while...something about rather be out riding our horse than sitting on my beHIND in the tub or something. ;) I've had some issues with bromine, though...at 'regular' levels, it makes my hands itch.  :-/ So, I think we'll be going back to dichlor, just not really sure at this stage. Go figure. *lol*

Dadgum!  We're running out of spas.  For those of you who are able to get the webcams to work, you'll notice there are getting to be a lot of empty spaces in the store.  This is usually one of the worst times of the year for spa sales, but since we've got some tubs over at the mall, we're popping 1 or 2 spas a day, for which we're very thankful.

Hope everyone finishes up the year strong...this will be my last official day at work until January, so Merry Christmas and see ya'll in '08. :)

Ho Ho Ho's!

I'm sorry I missed the party.

Term, what spa do you have standing on its side in Cam 2? Is it tore up to show the full foam or the guts of the equipment compartment for demo purposes. If so, I would like to see a close up.

Thank you for your pertinent and topical question.  As always, I will do my best to answer it without trepidation.

The spa in question is a HotSpring Jetsetter, which just so happened to have been sold approximately 45 minutes ago by my associate at our Tyler store.

The spa was turned up on its end to (a) maximize the space in the showroom and (b) afford the customers opportunity to view the underside of the spa.

I will now give a detailed overview of the spa and its features for your perusement on Channel 2.

Thank you.

Wow - it was so slow today we had a bowling tournament in the store and didn't hit a single customer. For those of you from Texas: "Coulda' swung a cat and not het a soul."

But I snuck out to run a few errands and oh my! The roads are clogged with shoppers - couldn't have gotten close to the mall if I wanted to!

Sure glad my people have finished all my Christmas shopping already.

However, the one spa we did sell was also a Jetsetter. Did it in the customer's backyard tho ... they had been in earlier in the week and we went out to do a free site survey and closed it up.

 8-)

Term, I'm getting a dead link with this URL. Is the site down or is it me?  :)
