Please do share.  I've been putting off a cover purchase wayyyyy to long, and Doc is the likely place I'll do business.

Hopefully before winter............................(just like I said last year)

Hello I live in the Northeast (long Island). What density should get for my 4' - 2" tapered cover that i will be ordering from either spacovers.com or rhtubs.com?

1 lb ??

Geez, I must be doing something wrong. Ok. lets do a quick comparison....

feature - rhtubs.com - spacovers.com

price : $320 - $340
foam density 1.5 - 1.25
vapor barrier : 6mil - ???
warranty : 4 years - 3 years
tie downs : 4 - 2
Continuous hinge seal : yes - no
Residential Delivery Fee : $0  - $18
price : $320 - $340
If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

thanks Doc! so RH it is for me.

Is 1.5 density good enough for cold winters or should I go with 2 lb density?

Same here.  A friend bought one and it looks good. I'll also go with the double wrap.  My 2nd cover in 5 years ia starting to get a bit heavy.

2 pound density foam will only increase the R value by 1 (one). The biggest advantages are more strength (30% more) for snow load, and the denser foam is less susceptible to water absorption.

Water absorbtion has been my big problem.  Would the denser foam and double wrap be over kill?

Did you see my aqua check test strip order go through?  I worded it so someone might have pointed it out to you.

That double wrap would totally be worth it if it kept water absortion at bay a few extra years.  My cover is in excellent physical condition, it just weighs a ton cause it's soaked up all that water.

Personally, I think the double wrap is enough, but I"m lazy and don't want to lift a cover that weighs 25%-30% more.

Sorry, I never saw the order. Most likely it came in during a time I wasn't here (I'm currently telecommuting / compucommuting quite a bit these days)

My cover is 4 years old. The top looks it but inside it looks brand new and there has been zero water absorption. I expect my cover to last at least 2 more years.

I have a good quality floating blanket.
