Marquis Pumps Confusion
« on: November 26, 2007, 05:30:24 pm »
I'm a little confused here.  I'm trying to order two new pumps for a '93 Marquis Voyage.  Part numbers are 630-0404 (2 speed 1.5 HP 48 frame) and 630-0405 (1 speed 1.5 HP 48 frame).   Marquis told me these pumps have a 2" intake and 1 1/2" discharge and that spapartsplus.com would know which pumps I need based on those numbers.  I called spapartsplus.com and they did know what I was talking about with those part numbers.  The 2" intake and 1 1/2" discharge was also throwing them for a loop.  There has to be at least one Marquis dealer here than can tell me what pumps I need.  I want to remove the old pumps and swap in new ones using the existing unions, if possible.  Thanks!

Order just the motors  not the whole pump. The wet ends are ok so why spend more than you have to.

Have looked at taking the pumps to an Electrical repair shop to have them test the motors it might be something small like a cap.  If they test them and they turn out ok then its your board.  before wasting a few 100 on motors you may not need, explore your options.

Are you positive you need the whole pump?  As suggested, make sure that is the actual problem.  There are other things that can be causing a motor to not run.
