Dax, I think you just like South Philly and that darn Lincoln Field! ;)...

..or is it the cheese steaks? ::)

Both actually.  8-)

Our tickets for PSU/Temple were club box seats on the 50-yard line.  Would love to have them for Eagles games, but the north endzone nose bleeds will have to do.  After the game while walking out, I noticed that secuirty was a little lax so I told my son to follow me.  We ended up visiting a couple of the suites just to check them out.  All the food was gone and the booze was locked up, but it was still cool to see how the better half live....

BTW, nice win by the Birds yesterday.  Hopefully they can win two in a row and get to .500 before the Patriots game.

Who might that be?  I feared this game more than any other on the schedule based on last year (I'm sure I said it before the game somewhere.  As I feared ill did play their best game and OSU didn't  However, too bad they didn't get to play the overtime to see who would have won.  On Illinoise first "touchdown" the back dropped the ball and OSU fell on it in the endzone.  Some screw up prevented the play from being challenged.  The Big 10 has done the best job in my opinion in college at handling the instant replay.  The week before 3 calls went against OSU on review, and they got each one right.  This week when we needed it, it let us down.  The review worked great in the Browns Steelers game too, though Coach Crannel pulled a dummy on that one.

As for the BCS, many years I wish it would blow up, but not this week.  The 7th ranking ticks me off though.  I'll give you LSU and Oregon at 1-2, but OSU could wipe the floor with Missouri and WVA, and if Kansas is going to be ranked behind two 1 loss teams, it might as well be 3. I don't know enough about Oklahoma to comment there.

I can't agree. The Big 10 has shown itself to be nothing special the last couple years and there is no reason to believe OSU should be ranked higher than WV or Mizz IMHO. Then again its all subjective. Bring on the Plus-1, at a minimum.

There is no reason to believe OSU should be ranked lower than those two. History, strength of schedule, and game performance is on OSU's side.

I'm with the pollsters in thinking WV would handle OSU. Not so sure on Mizz but that doesn't matter because they along with OK and KS will either show their worth on not when the 3 of them decide the Big 12. Ahh, sports opinions, isn't it great the debate things that have no true answer.

OSU's problems lie not only in that loss to Ill but also last year's OSU/FL lopsided game, the black eye taken this year with one of the conference top teams losing at home to a Div II team and then getting hammered by Oregon (the team OSU wants to be thought even with) and the general mediocrity of the Big 10 this year leading pollsters to want to disregard OSU from any thought of who should be in the final game.

As far as "history" goes, that whole conference needs to step it up the next couple year's with a few good out of conference wins and a few meaningful bowl showings (heck, maybe even a win or two) because right now they're heading down toward the ACC as far as respect goes.

Well, after Mizzou wipes the floor with KU tonight, it looks like they'll be #1. Thanks, for the most part, to Arkansas for their triple OT victory over LSU.
Fwiw, both of my older brothers and the majority of my friends are all Mizzou grads.
We're more hyped today then when the Rams were in the Super Bowl.

First they have to beat Kansas (?able).

Then they have to try again to beat Oklahoma (?able).

Only then would they have the shot to play in the title game against West Virginia (sorry Bill but OSU needs to root for Ok to have a shot at WV).

I agree 100% about your Mizzou title game predictions. They will have to win out.
However, I do not think KU will be much of a problem. Now Oklahoma on the other hand is whole different story. Who would like to see out of the Big 12 Spatech?

I'm always a sucker for the Cinderella story and the Underdog. With Kansas long history as a football patsy I can't help but to be 100% behind them though MU is certainly a good story itself. If Mizzou does win then I'm certainly in their corner against the long time bully on the block, Oklahoma.

Phew, I had you tagged as a Sooners fan. I guess we can still be friends afterall. ;)

Btw, I don't see the Buckeyes in the Championship no matter what. I think you hit the nail on the head by predicting their only chance is if the Sooners win but even then it doesn't look good. And that's fine by me.

Actually, I think Ohio State has a very good chance to make it to the finals. West Virginia is pretty much a shoe in and the other one will go to Ohio State if Oklahoma wins the Big 12 Championship game and I guarantee the Sooners will be favored (though certainly not prohibitively) so Ohio State has a little better than a 50% chance of playing WV in the title game by my logic (and with all due respect to Buckeye & Medium-10 fans I'm picking WV in that one).

Seriously, how good is Chase Daniels? What a game!  8-)

The score doesn't really display how much Mizzou outplayed them. Thanks, for the most part, to an absolute horrid job of officiating. Some of those calls were just ridiculous in the 4th quarter. Oh well, the stats don't lie.

Given the relatively weak conference that the Big 10 is this year (I rank the Big 10 as no higher than 5th out of 6 BCS conferences) and the very weak out of conference schedule that OSU played this year, I would have to rank the Buckeyes no higher than 4th or 5th in my poll. Enjoy the Rose Bowl!

I agree with what you're saying about the Medium 10 but if Oklahoma beats Mizzou I think Ohio State will make it into the championship game versus WV.

Let's hope this all will help lead to a 4 or 8 team playoff.
