Royal Spa Will Reform Business Practices to
Comply with Notice of Cancellation Laws


INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Royal Spa Corporation (Royal Spa), a spa and hot tub
dealer, will reform its business practices to include legally required notice of
cancellation rights to consumers at the attorney general's request. The notice
requirements are triggered when the company engages in sales outside
of its permanent places of business.

"Doing business in Indiana means complying with consumer protection laws
which in some instances include providing cancellation rights to customers,"
Attorney General Steve Carter said.

"We have a document now that specifically details how and what this company
will do in the future to ensure it has met its obligations to consumers."

When selling its products at fairs and other similar events, Royal Spa will
provide consumers 2 copies of a written notice of their right to cancel.

The company has also agreed to comply with the Indiana Deceptive Consumer
Sales Act in all future transactions and inform the attorney general of any
additional permanent places of business.

The state reviewed some Royal Spa transactions that took place outside
of the company's permanent place of business and alleged that the company
failed to provide the legally required notice of cancellation to consumers.
Although the company has agreed to reform its business practices, it is not
admitting that it has violated any consumer protection laws.

Royal Spa sells spas, hot tubs, saunas, swim spas, gazebos, whirlpool baths,
and related parts and accessories. It has two business locations in Indianapolis
as well as locations in Evansville and Kokomo.

Are those factory stores on their web site or dealers?

The last swim spa we sold was a royal. I priced one for a customer last year and found my cost had nearly doubled. They said demand in europe drove up the price because they're production was maxxed. HHHHHMMMMM!!!!!

I purchased a Royal Spa in October (an Emperor II) and found the sales person to be honest and up front with me.  My experience was similar to any purchase of a high ticket item by a commissioned sales person.  I don't think Royal was trying to be deceptive.  (Just my opinion, of course)

I do know that they just went through a price increase.  I noticed the higher MSRPs as I purchased some chemicals.  The salesperson indicated that they had not increased prices for 3 years and this was an attempt to catch up to the market.  Glad I bought my spa in October!

They are factory stores, if you want to call it a factory that is. If you check their list of dealers acrosss the US, call them (the dealers) you will typically find out that it is an appliance repair shop that has maybe one or two of their spas on display. In my opinion it is a weak product with antiquated technology, sort of. Their claim that buying a "computer controlled spa" is a bad thing is contradicted in their own product. Just pull up the top side controller and look at the underside....what's that you see there, a computer chip?!? SAY IT ISN'T SO!
