When I shock my tub once per week I use 3 tbls of dichlor for a 225 gallon tub. This dosage should bring it up to about 12ppm. 24 hours later, the FC level is still high; around 5+ppm. Is this normal?? Or should I use a diff amount of dichlor??
for your once per week shock of dichlor, what do you have for a reading if you drop it from 3 Tbsp to 2 Tbsp 24 hours later? I wouldn't cut your weekly shock TOO far back (after all, the point is to kill off gunk in the water), but try cutting by about 1/3 and see what your levels are at. That way, you're still going to bring your chlorine levels up high enough to kill off the goo, but low enough that you don't have high chlorine levels the next day. and if 3 Tbsp in your tub should make 28-33ppm, and it's down to 5 in 24 hours, it sounds like you still need a good shocking to keep your water clean.Just my slightly fuzzy $.02.....
