2006 Optima head rest
« on: November 14, 2006, 05:05:05 pm »
I am not sure I like the way my new 2006 optima head rests are attached.  I have had a couple that easily become disconnected from the white plastic post.  Am I the only one with this problem?  Are there any tricks to get the head rests back onto the post?  I have ruined one of the posts trying to get the rest back on.  Any suggestions?  Also, where would I get a new post for the one that I have ruined?  Thanks!

The trick is not to tighten too much.  Screw them in just enough to get them snug, otherwise you just push the head through the head rest.  They will stay just fine for you.

You can get new nylon screws from your dealer.

take a drill and put an extra screw in it.

I think the right solution is to give it a god wack to get those things in
