My guess would be copper in the water, you can have our dealer test for it, as its a standard test for swimming pools with a heater.

My second thought may be that the shell has a slight hint of green in the acrylic, think about all the shades of white when you last painted your ceiling. If that's the case the water would always appear greenish no mater what you try

Copper was my first thought as well. Tub water tested 0% copper. Chemistry was never my favorite in school, but from what I remember oxidized copper turns green. Once it oxidizes it's not longer Cu and if all the copper in the tub is oxidized the water won't test positive for copper?

? With that in mind I tested my water staight out of the tap as well....no copper.

The tub shell is sand color. The water really is green.

Ok...since nobody liked my pee theory..... :-?

Could it have been from the hose/line you filled it with? Since it's a 2nd home, could that have not been completely flushed out before you started filling from it? Maybe enough gunk to tint the water, but now it's all flushed out (& in your tub) from the fill, so it tests fine?

Clean your filters and shock your tub.

My water has a green tint to it and cleaning the filters and shocking seems to help (i've found this helps with most everything).

I didn't make it up to the house to check it or do any testing last weekend. I'm gonna try this weekend. I'll post what I find out.

Good news....at least for me. Made it up to the house last weekend. Shocked the tup heavily and cleaned the filter. Nice and clear now. Thanks for all the suggestions and support.

I also found out what is going.
the water hardner and the brommin react to each other an turn the water green.
I also found out that my circ pump was not running properly so i had no continius water filtering.
I do rins my filters every week now.
the water is clear an nice
