I believe the LeBossier is still there but called something else.  That was the place to be in the 80's.

My boss took the guy out to dinner Wednesday night.  When he came to work Thursday morning, he found this and the store key taped to the back door:

And that's the last we hope to hear from him.

That's bat shiate crazy.

Who leaves a note and doesn't tell you in person? That's downright rude. You flew that guy in no? Put him up and fed him and gave him a job?

"No time? "what the hell does that mean?

I like how it starts off reminding you that he turned down a job in MI. - as if he was doing you a favor.  And then closes by insulting your town.  Real class act.

If you aint happy with yourself, no matter where you go, you wont be happy.

The "shiitehole":

Granted, the entrance isn't guarded by an angel with a flaming sword like Grand Rapids, but it isn't exactly hell on earth..... ::)

I'm off the next 2 days before our big tent sale.  Boss sold a Sovereign yesterday in Shreveport and I sold an Envoy! ;D

You're probably better off without him, if this is his professionalism, then sooner or later he'd do something worse.

Yep.  It became painfully clear why he was available in the first case.

Most people I know in business relish an opportunity to be in charge of their own destiny, to commit themselves to improving their situation in life, to make an effort towards taking control of the responsibility freely given to them.  Others are content to vacuum the floor, clean the spas, and watch TV all day while planning their residency requirements to be within walking distance of the local pubs. ::)

Good riddance and not nearly soon enough.

Bye!

For how unprofessional that letter is, I find it also unprofessional that this letter has been posted on this forum.

Term,

While my leaving a letter was admittedly unprofessional, I had to leave very early in the morning to make it to a commitment that I had made in Florida. I called the bosses phone and it was turned off. I made the call. I'll live with it.

I was nothing but complimentary to You, Randall, and East Texas Spas. If you want to throw around disparaging comments about me, that's a reflection on your character, not mine.( Posting the note not exactly classy, as chris_H pointed out)
You might want to point out to the good folks on this forum that you and your boss live nowhere near Shreveport. Nor would you. I didn't say a word about your town.

Nice try with your pics! Shreveport has a new outlet mall! Congrats! They also have crime rates well above the national average in every category.

http://www.cityrating.com/citycrime.asp?city=Shreveport&state=LA

I also was convinced I wanted no part of this area by the blatant racism that I encountered on more than a handful of occasions in less than two weeks. i.e.(you notice that our apartment complex has a gate to keep "the blacks" out.) That was presented as a selling point at two different complexes.

I didn't do enough research before moving down. My bad. I could sign a lease and be miserable, or I could seek opportunities elsewhere. I chose the latter.

Good Luck with all you do

Tom

So you couldn't tell your boss in person that evening at dinner because................

wait for it

He might not then have picked up the check?

Are you saying that after dinner that night you made the Florida commitment and then left the next morning or did you make the commitment before dinner?

Anyway, besides not leaving notice, you were very out of line the way you had to put down Shreveport in your letter. Why not just say you were homesick for MI. Regardless of the timing and lack of notice they would have at least understood that rather than you calling the city a shiithole. You're a salesman, sell it soley on teh fact that you missed home!!! That lacked class.
