Thermo Spa #1
« on: August 20, 2006, 11:47:41 am »
I was watching Sports Center this morning and saw a new Thermospa commerical.  It didn't seem that new, but I did notice a couple of things.  First was a detailed explanation of their "multi-level insulation scheme" that recaptures the systems heat to reheat the water.  They have always said that it takes just a few dollars a day to operate. But now they are throwing in "Most energy efficient spa of any brand."    Then they casually mention, "starting at $3495"

I've never seen a Thermospa tub, but I gotta question this ad.    But I'll bet a lot of people who have never owned a hot tub might name this brand first if they were asked to name brands.

Thats what they're counting on.  All hype and no substance.

I don't trust any company that puts tin foil as their outside insulating barrier.

Wow, a few dollars per day sounds like a $100 electric bill to me. Why would they advertise that?
2005 Hot Spring Envoy still going strong. Million-Mile Club....

I want to get in the spa business so I can surf the internet and use Photoshop all day long.

It's a real gray commercial I also assumed the same, maybe they are talking purchase cost and operating cost Maybe if I see the commercial again I can pause it and see if there is one of those 500 word disclaimers that flash on the screen for less than a second.
