Sundance Bahia power question
« on: August 07, 2006, 12:23:28 pm »
Would you recommend a 50 or 60amp hookup for the Bahia?  One Sundance dealer says 50amp and another says 60amp.  I guess with a 50amp, you can't have all the jets on and the heater at the same time.  The 50amp person said if I plan on keeping the water around 101 degrees or so, the heater usually doesn't need to be on with the jets.

What power have you used?
Thanks.

I would go with the 60 amp.  That way if the heater DOES need to be on with both jets on, then it can be.

Thanks for the 60amp suggestion...that's what I was thinking.

I was also wondering if anyone has been running it on 50amp, what their experience was.

I run my Optima @ 60 amps.  There was no cost difference to me, so in my case it was a no brainer.  My 60 amp GFI breaker was actually about $15 cheaper than the equavalent 50 amp one.  I live in Minnesota, so I figured it'd be nice in winter to have the heater on whenever it needed to be.

I run my Optima with at the factory set 50 amps.  I have never had as issue with the heat keeping up, even during winter (MA).  I do agree, though, that the 60 amp setup is best.
