Here in dayton, I just bought 70# of Di-Chlor at sam's club for $100.00. I just keep refilling my old bottle when needed.

Let's see.....I use about 5#/year....that would be 14 years worth.  Even at 10#/year....7 years....I wouldn't think the shelf life would be that great.  I saw the same big container at Sam's and decided against it.  I get all of my AllClear dichlor at Doc's site.  The 5# container is excellent....nice extra-wide mouth easily allowing your hand in with any size measuring implement....plus it has a very nice handle which is extremely handy.  I like the containers so much that I've converted old ones to store MPS and soda ash.

Dichlor definetly has a limited shelf life.  70 pounds for a spa will never make it.  You'll never use that amount of chlorine in a spa before the shelf life is over.

Consider you only use 1-2 pounds of dichlor per 20,000 gallons of pool water when you shock a pool.
