ok, I know what roses and lattice are......but what's pergola?
Wintertime means fewer people running around near our house.....And by then, it's possible to have another "line of defense", maybe a shower curtain on the inside of the fence, or something else to cut down on the cold breeze and add privacy....
This is something I'm giving a lot of thought to now that the major stuff's out of the way.   ;D

I'm not sure of the defilintion of a pergola, but it is usually a fairly open, wooden structure with a partial roof, or partial walls, that you'd find in a garden, or serving as a patio cover sort of thing. check this out:

Oooooohhhhhhhhhhh......now THOSE I like...   ;D Time to surf, see if anything looks workable, I think.....
The lattice is the basic thought, but hey.....I can be swayed. ;)

how are you guys going to position your steps? will you just step from the main deck, or will the spa steps fit on the new deck?

actually, I'm not sure that we're going to be able to use the spa steps...we'll see when the setup's closer to done, though. Right now we've got the large step off the deck for entry, and I'd LIKE to make another entrance to the tub, but I'll have to consider carefully, as the direction the cover opens will affect its ability to work...that and the placement of the privacy fence.

The Grandee lid opens from side to side. You can mount the lifter on either end of the spa.

If you stand in front of the control panel, it will go right or left.

Yup, that's what I thought, thanks Chas....I'm really debating right now...either have it open AWAY from the house and give a LITTLE privacy from the neighbors to the east, or open toward the house so we can use a step to get in by the water feature side to make TWO entrances...?? The step between decks should be wide enough to get at the filters with no problem...
This, actually, is about the most pressing issue I've got right now, and it's NICE to have 95% of the crap DONE and out of the way!!
