Cloudy water
« on: September 23, 2005, 12:48:49 pm »
Hi, I have had the hot tub up and running 2 weeks. Everything was fine unti 2 days ago. It was fine when just my husband and I used it. But then 4 of us used it and the next day Water turned cloudy. :( I shocked it  and now the PH is a little low and TA little low also. We sprayed the filter last night. Still cloudy now. I am bringing a sample to dealer tomorrow and getting filter cleaner.
Any ideas?

Shocked it with what? Do you normally use Dichlor or Bromine?

I use bromine and the dealer gave me a starter box  of chemicals .This box had Bromine granuals, bottle of Stain and Scale remover, Water clarifier, and little packages of shock. I put a packet of the shock in and let let the filter run for awhile. I have not put the clairfer in yet.

What are your sanitizer levels?   With cloudy water,  first make sure that the sanitizer residual is adequate, then look at filtration, then try a shock or clarifier.  It can take a day or more for water to clear even after you have addressed the problem correctly.

Thank you for the info. I will address one thing at a time. I guess (wrongly) that these worked right away. I will be patient. Have a great weekend  everyone.
