Hello!  Can anyone offer any advice on getting on our chemicals balanced in our brand new hot tub?  We'll get everything good except free chlorine,  then we'll add chlorine to bring it up and everything else will get knocked out of whack!  We've had hot tubs in the past and have never had this problem,  it's getting frustrating, to say the least,  lol!  Our water is also super foamy when we first get in... not sure if the two issues are related?

Your not trying to balance your "chemicals" your tying to balance your water. Your waters PH and ALK make your sanitizer work best. We are going to need more info. What are the current PH and ALK of your water? How old is your water and how much have you used the tub during that time?

Sorry, poor wording on my part.  We've had it a little over a month,  used it maybe 15 times,  Spayed the filter out as instructed by our dealer.  Our ph is at the 2nd highest to highest on the test strip,  our free chlorine isn't even registering, and the alkalinity is good...until we add stuff to correct the other two items, then that goes to the low side of the chart.

It's OK to allow the alk to go a bit low as you try and get PH in line. Your free chlorine is low because your using up your sanitizer as you bath.

When are you checking for free chlorine?  You should be checking about 5 minutes after you add it.  If you don't get a free chlorine reading, keep adding until you do.
