Not to be a di**, but did you think about a conduit for your electrical wire in the concrete? I know...I'm a di** for pointing that out after all your hard work. ...None of you have to agree

Thought about the conduit in the slab....but didnt know exactly where we were going to place the spa - so I went with the Watertight flex stuff.

Very nice!  Did you do like we did with ours.....and leave a slot open in the middle of the slab for the family safe?

What year is your spa?

 Looks good....I love the grey look. We have a similiar display in our showroom with an aluminum cabintet, grey deck, cover, etc....

 Sweet  Very nice job that slab should last a looooong time.  Nice looking tub we went with the Sea Mist Opal and redwood cabinet.  Enjoy

Hey!!  Looks Great!  Good Job.  I sorta wish I had gone with the slab.  I still might do that later.  I've got it on the deck now.

I put a lot of spas on new slabs, and I usually try to have the customer put the conduit into the slab in a back corner or some place hidden. Then run flex the rest of the way to the tub. I do this for several reasons:

1.It' very tough to locate the conduit in such a way that it can come right up into the tub. Not only is is easy to miss with the measurements, but it's real easy to move the thing as you are pouring and finishing the slab. This seems to happen most often in situations where the tub simply cannot be shifted an inch or two to accomodate the conduit: then you have to abandon the conduit and run flex anyway.

2.If you change your mind about the location or orientation of the tub, you can easily move it if you have used the flex.

3.Conduit gong just under the part of the slab which gets traffic or the part that shows works just fine.

Thanks all - as for the spa its brand new - just got two weeks ago - its 2004.

I didnt know the flexpipe would be this much of a talking point ?? This was our first Tub install and we think we did a good job and saved alot money in the process by doing it all ourselves.

mhraracing, my tub is being put in now and they forgot to put the cover lifter in with the packaging. They brought the wrong one. Mine will be just like yours and i need to know how much space it takes up exactly because the tub is being recessed and if i need to move it, i need to do it tommorow. plz measure it and let me know. Ill be watching this thread. thx

Andy - perfect timing.....Our tub is exactly 17 inches from the cabinet to the back wall of my garage. Thats as close as you can get without hitting the back wall when do the second flip. Hope that helps.
