Well, I know this question has been asked many times before, but....... We are considering getting a new spa and after a brief search are considering the Caldera Martinique and the Sundace Marin. I am hoping someone has one of these and can offer insight as to the quality. Also, If anyone can suggest other options I would greatly appreciate it. We are somewhat limited on space. We are looking at  the less than 7k range. Thank You

The two spas you're looking at are very good. You'll find many will give opinions of others to consider. Good luck. Take your time, wet test  and make an informed decision.

Civicmx3,

Comparing the Marin and the Martinique:

The design between the two is extremely similar.  The lounge seats in both units are designed for people less than 5’6’’ in height.  If you are taller than that, you may want to look at other brands or models or wet test to make sure you fit in the lounges of both.

I would consider the filtration in the Sundance better than in the Caldera.  There are a few reasons for this:  One is the Micro-Clean filtration that Sundance offers and secondly the weir door that traps the debris in the filter area.  The Caldera does not offer either of those items.  The Caldera filtration is similar to the Tiger River filtration, but not the same as the Tiger River filtration.

The Sundance also offers 2 – 2.5HP Motors versus the Caldera’s 2 – 2.0 HP Motors.  I personally would never purchase a spa based on horsepower of the motors, but many consumers want to know the difference in the specifications.  Sundance also offers an air blower that Caldera does not offer.  In regards to the quality of the pumps and motors:  both manufacturers offer great warranties on those items.

The Sundance Marin offers two control panels; one on each side of the spa.  The Martinique only offers one control panel.

In regards to the heater, the Sundance and Caldera both offer unconditional warranties on this item.  The Sundance uses a titanium element, where as, the Caldera uses a stainless steel element.  The Caldera element is the same element in the Tiger River spas.

Please ask if you have any additional questions.
