2014 vs 2018 limelight flair
« on: May 08, 2019, 03:41:05 pm »
I have a deposit on a new 2018 limelight flair. however I've been offered a 2014 model used at less than 1/2 the cost. I'm struggling to find out what the difference is. the new one comes from a dealer. the used one from a private home. so I can't really ask the dealer the differences.

If you don't have the opportunity to see that used spa filled with water AND up to temperature take a pass.

Sometimes used spas are for sale and they say it ran great before they drained it, that's not a promise you want to put stock in.

If you can't see the used one filled and running, it's worth zero.  Even filled and running, it's worth less than half of what a new one is considering there is no warranty and you will have to pay to move it.

2018 has dual filter vs single filter, exterior lights, different exterior (easier to remove and looks better in my opinion), Ozone standard vs optional, warranty vs no warranty, updated styling which in my opinion provides a little more interior room.

I have seen it filled and heated. Do you know if the insulation is different? Would it be a continuous pump?

Same insulation.  Same pumps.  Same circulation pump.  Same control box (older version of software).  Different control panel.

What prices are you being given for both the 2018 and 2014?

To state the obvious.  5 year parts and labor warranty vs. no warranty. Is that worth double the price?  Only you can say.  Esthetics and design huge difference.

$3500 for 2014 plus cost to move.  $9000 for 2018.

Now its all about condition and on that a used spa is kind of like a used car, sometimes a 5 year old looks almost new and other times it looks like it went through the ringer.
