Waterway Executive / Viper interchangeable?

 Due to a ordering mistake, I have a waterway executive 56 4hp, to replace my broken Viper 4hp.  If i remove the wet end of the executive and replace it with my old Viper wet end, will it work?

It should.  The Executive may fit in place of the Viper with no issues.  Worth a shot before swapping wet ends

If it does fit......why? Is the plumbing different? I would want the new wet end and seal if possible.
