Part out a Jacuzzi Z-145 or let dealer haul it off?
« on: July 10, 2014, 08:48:58 am »
I would like to thank everyone for their years of knowledge you have shared with others on this forum. I have been viewing as a guest for sometime and just recently decided to replace our 18 year old Jacuzzi Z-145 with a new J-335 (order was place last week). The decision was partly based on the information gathered from this forum. The hot tub is an outdoor unit and the wood skirt and frame supports had finally gotten to the point that I either undertook a major rebuild project or upgraded to current technology. My wife decided on the latter given how long it takes me to complete major projects. ;D

Now to my question: The Jacuzzi dealer offered to haul the Z-145 off to the dump as part of the deal but I was wondering if there is a market for used parts as I have replaced the motor/pump assembly, cover and heater within the past 18 months. I am thinking the probability of finding someone in my area via Craigslist that is in need of used parts off a model that has not been sold 15 years is very low. What are your thoughts?

You can take the pumps and the heater out and maybe resell them on C,list up to you if you want to deal with it or not.

This is what an 18year old hot tub looks like after being pushed off a 3 foot high deck.  Enjoy.

Glad my wife vetoed rebuilding the frame and skirt on this puppy. New Jacuzzi J335 is two weeks away from delivery  :D

If you are smart, you will have them haul it away.  Your best option for any salvage is to take the motors to a salvage yard and put some change in your pocket.
