Jacuzzi j-345 vs j-365
« on: April 05, 2014, 11:34:28 pm »
Hello everyone. Me and my wife are just about to make our first Hot tub purchase and have decided to go with the jacuzzi 345 or 365. Wet testing tomorrow and love to get some thoughts about the midels. Also my electrician wants to run the power throught the bottom of the tub for a cleaner instal thus avoiding the knock out holes and flexible conduits.

Any one even heard of this being done

Thanks for your though

I would buy the biggest one you can afford.

As for the hole in the bottom of the tub, sounds like it would work, but just check with the dealer to see if there would be a warranty issue with doing it.

You can come up through the btm without any warranty issues.    But!   if it is going on an exact size slab you have to make sure they place the conduit in the right spot or you might come up under a pump or something..    Front right or left corner would work.

Also to add are you testing 2014 spas?  They added a foot dome to the J-345 which I really like. Basically a smaller version of a J-365

I'm glad you mentioned it. I was going to say I nearly picked the one over the other because of the foot dome, but that was two years ago.

Thanks for the information everyone. We wet tested the tubs on sunday and we loved the j-365. The j-345 was just a little to cramped for us and were amazed on how much difference that 1/2' makes.  I mentioned to the salesman about what my electrician wanted to do and he was totally opposed to it because of any issues that might arise with the wiring or "critters" that could get inside the tub. These are all valid points and something we will have to work out. Coming up into one of the knock out holes along the side of the tub is an ok option.

The foot dome on the j-365 was great.

Any other info for a first timer would be a great help

thanks
