Hot Tub Cover and Lift for Sundance Optima
« on: May 23, 2012, 10:34:28 am »
Hi, I have a 2004 Sundance optima with Factory Cover and Lift. The cover needs to be replaced as does the lift. I live in Ottawa, Canada and we get a lot of snow/freezing rain. Any suggestions on which cover to get/which features I need? Am I better of getting another Sundance cover, or are there better options? I can either get it shipped directly to me or to a UPS store in the States for pick-up.

Thanks

The factory cover is usually only available in one model, different colors. If you order a custom cover, you can get one which is thicker, has more slope to the taper, longer/shorter skirts, more/fewer fastener straps, and so forth.

Doc sells a very good cover, and he'll gladly double wrap the cores if you like - small fee.

If the factory cover lasted from 2004 until today, you can count that as above average.

thanks for the response. What type of cover (thickness, wrapped core, etc) would you reccomend for the climate here (cold winters with lots of snow and hot summers with lots of sun exposure)?

6" x 4" tapered, 1.5 pound density, double wrapped cores.
If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

Google: "Extreme Spa Covers"

They have a cool sizing tool for ordering on line.
