Question about Finding a good dealer
« on: May 01, 2012, 12:22:37 am »
Guys - still wet testing and in process of trying to find that winning dealer + product to get the long term success I want. I have a question about the dealer vetting process I have not seen on the boards in searching. Is it ok to ask the dealers for references of clients they have served? If so what's normal in terms of how many I can ask for?

I've found a couple dealers who seem nice, but I'd really like to talk to customers who have had problems and see what they say?

Also are there any other questions I should ask my potential dealers ( not product specific, but about service or other areas)? Just want to make sure I end up in a good situation.

Thanks!!!

Good question. I would say it is ok to ask.  Many will say that of course they are only going to give you people they know are happy, but that is ok, there are ways of finding out about the ones that are not.  Our Local Sundance dealer use to have some of those recommendations right on their website and I even happen to know one of the people listed and the recommendation was genuine and unpaid.

Its a tough process and not unfallable.  The economy over the past few years has made it tough and even dealers who were reputable and been around 20 years are now gone.  New ones, good and bad, pop up and disappear.

My dealer had a couple of photo albums with customer set ups and references.  I would have no problem asking for references and tell them why you are asking. You have probably read on here lots of times how important it is to find a good dealer. I would even say that..I am shopping for a quality tub, but also a reliable dealer who will support me if I have a problem. Being up front and honest is (in my opinion) your best bet.. Good luck  ;)

I came across a decent Black Jack dealer at the local casino last month.  He refused to deal me a Black jack, but I was up 20 hands on him in two hours. My local tub dealer is pretty decent too.

Thanks all! I'm not much into blackjack, but if anyone can point me to a good poker dealer in AC or Vegas it would be great!

@JB1 - I'm actually in the Baltimore / DC area, and there's not as many 'top tier' as you would think. I'm headed to a marquis dealer this weekend, but concerned as the showroom is 60 miles from my house. They have a warehouse 7 miles away, but no tubs. Not sure if that would have any bearing on the service, but i plan on asking ( assuming I like the tubs)

So that means you would be about 65 miles from my dealer in wilmington Delaware. He is now selling Caldera. If you are heading in that direction, it might be worth checking out. PM me if you think you might be interested.
