Help -PH high / TA low
« on: October 23, 2011, 10:15:21 am »
Bromine system, 400 gallon Sundance Altamar with Ozonator. PH is at 8 and TA at 40-50. How can I raise the TA to 80-120 as needed without raising PH?

If the water is older than a couple of months, I would just change it.

If it's brand new water, then I would add baking soda and wait.

Baking soda raises both, but the TA more so than the pH, and over a couple of days it should come into line. Be sure not to retest the water too fast: wait at least 8 hours after adding anything to adjust water balance.
