Looking to buy
« on: July 04, 2011, 10:44:39 am »
I'm looking to buy a hot tub - I live in NY (about 1/2 north of NYC).  would like something <$4k

I was considering 2 routes
(a) 1 (or 2) person indoor tub - i.e. I like the idea of being indoors (enjoy the privacy, and would end up using it more often) and have a small home theater place, it'd be great in - though I worry about causing mold
(b) backyard

Concerns are
(a) something inexpensive to run
(b) won't crack
(c) I'm tall - 6'2" - would like something that I can relax in (lounge?)

Any ideas, suggestions , model recommendation, 1st time buyer beware, lessons learned, etc . would be of help

thx,

I'd look at a Hot Spot TX (they updated it this year and has become one of my best sellers) for the inside.  It would most likely be a little higher than your price range seeing as you are on the east coast.  Adding the circ pump also makes it nice and quiet for the indoors, but that option is up to you.

I would not worry about the mold to much, as your cover is going to be on the spa about 95% of the time if not more.
