spa pack problem

I have a Great Lakes Spa 2001. I just replaced the spa control pack. The pack is a Balboa System 2000 Value. The only difference between the new and original is the new can be wired 120v or 240v and the original 240v only.I've checked the wiring diagram and it's wired 240v like the original. My problem is the pump seems to run slow (poor flo) and when Itry to switch tohigh it bogs down more untill Itake my finger off the button then runs slow again. It seems like the pump is under powered but everything is wired like before. Any sugestions?

Sounds like the motor is only receiving 120 volts.  Look at the white wire for the motor, I am sure that it is currently connected to the nuetral instead of line 2.  White wire should be sending 120 volts to motor at all times, it is the second 120 volts delivered either from low or high speed relay that makes the motor actually come on.  Hope this helps and is not to confusing!

A "convertible" pak operates on both 120v and 240v, BUT the motors are 120 volt only.  LOOK at the motor ID label and identify the voltage number, it is likey to be 120v.  The ONLY thing that operates on the 240v is the heater.  When you double the voltage, you square the kW, thus 120v heater is 1.5 kW, while the 240v heater is 6 kW with a larger heating capacity.  

Your original pak was a "straight" 240 v and had ALL components operating on 240 volts.  You new pak has all functions EXCEPT the heater operating on 120 v while the heater operates on 240 v.

Please check your wiring diagram.

Thanksfor the help. My electrician friend came over yesterday and found the same thing, the board was configured for 240v but then only 120 out to the motor and other components which needed 240v. Some jumper changes solved the problem. Right now the blower runs whenever the jets are on so Ineed to figure that out but till then Ijust unplugged it.
