Water in the tub is at the three month and ready for a refill, but I am not sure how to go about in the middle of winter. In my neck of the woods, it will not be above freezing for several more months. Once the current cold snap ends (8 days+ with highs in the sub-zeros), I should have daytime temps in the teens. Am I Ok to do a drain and refill as long as I immediately refill after draining? What if I have to refill more slowly using buckets from an inside faucet (hoses and exterior faucets are off for the winter)? Thanks

In the winter, I wait for a relatively warm day and do a partial 3/4 refill. I can't imagine using buckets from an inside faucet - too much work - why don't you simply turn the exterior faucets on for the day?

LOL, buckets would take forever. �Get one of these http://www.pythonproducts.com/aqprod.html and hook it to the closes faucet or make one for a lot less money.

That works great for aquariums, but I wouldn't fill my hot tub with it...

I know it sounds ridiculous, and not a lot of fun either. �However, I have had pipes to both exterior faucets frozen and burst in the last two winters in a row. �Even though we tried to turn them off and drain them by mid-October, it looks like one is frozen again this year (but not burst thank goodness). � So I have the possibility of freezing the other fauct or manual labor. �

So back to the real question, no problem to drain and promptly refill at below freezing temps?

Rather than drain all out and refill by bucket, like mentioned just do a partial over a couple of days take 30/40 gallons out one day, do it again the next. �Something like that??

370 gallons at say 3 to 4 gallons a trip is a lot of trips, not to mention you might trip, and have to make another trip?

�Hows the water look anyway, just leave it another month?
