Water Tonic

I would like to hear of others' experience using Water Tonic, either good or bad.

I have used this product for four years with good results, but I'm curious to hear from others, as you don't see this product mentioned very much.

Forgive me blue moon 2u   but am always suspicious of a new poster whose first post is about a product.

I've never heard of Tonic Water.  Never.

Doing a bit of research we find it's an all natural water sanitation product created by a John Walberg of Idaho. It is also sold in the UK by Clear Choice UK.   Nether web site looks like it does much business.   Google shows me the business address is a nice residential home.  Hmmmm. thanks Google Earth.

Can we get an IP check on Bluemoon2u?  You wouldn't happen to live in Idaho, would you?

There was a regular poster on one of the spa forums a couple or few years back that was one of the founders of Water Tonic.  It is an enzyme product similar to the more popular Eco One or the Natural.  Like every system, there are positives and negatives.

I dont know much about it. I had a customer tell me they found it over the net and they have been using and seem to like it. They did say it was pretty expensive though.

Well, I don't live in Idaho and I don't sell this product.

I simply was wondering if anyone else has used this product and what their experience has been.

Simple as that!

If anyone has another alternative sanitizer to recommend from personal experience, I'd welcome all comments.

Well, my response was a serious one.  Enzymes appeal to certain tub owners.  There are many alternatives that work well from simple chlorine to Nature2 to Brilliance bromine.  Water Tonic is very similar to Eco One and the Natural which seem to be the two enzyme systems with the largest distribution.  There was a founder of Water Tonic that did frequent one of the forums (I don't remember which one) just as many dealers and factory reps frequent this forum.

Enzymes have always caught my attention but I have never tried them.  High pH, more recommended filter times and the need to rinse filters more often have been the reasons I've stayed away.  Long lasting water, fresh smell, little additional sanitizer seem to be the advantages, especially for those with sensitive skin.

On the subject, has anyone delt with The Natural Hot Tub Co. They contacted me about their product and want me to sell it. i said I would not sell untill I personally tried it, so they sent me a set up.

it does run a high PH saying 8-8.2 is normal. i asked if they had issues with scale or foaming and they said no. I will try it in my tub when I am due for a drain. They said you have to use dichlor after each use to fall within regs, but they don't they just dichlor once per week. They also state when you add the dichlor to leave the jets running for 45 mins. with the cover off. What a waste of energy for a "green product"

I don't see the advantage to it if I have to add dichlor after each use, I could use just the dichlor and save $35.00.

Any other have comments about it before I dump into my tub to try?

The Natural Hot Tub Co. is another enzyme product.  It is not the same as The Natural.  RH Tubs sells The Natural at that site.  Over the years there were regular posters there that absolutely loved that product.  It looks like The Natural Hot Tub Co. is the old Spa Magic which I have heard of.

Most of the enzyme products are similar.  They run a pH in the low eights and generally need a lot of filter time, thus a lot of filter rinsing...generally once per week.  A special purge before the first use usually needed.  A slight amount of dichlor is generally required, though many do not find the need to do so.  I believe all it really needs is about a teaspoon or two once per week.

They say it is made from seaweed. The lab is Star Lab in Miami Fl.

I will keep posted if I try it. I just don't want a mess in my tub, and going without the tub for 5 days while we purge it really stinks too since we use the tub everynight. My tub is only a month old, so I wonder if I have to run the purge stuff for 5 days. Guess I will call them.

It is a bit pricy too. $35.00 a bottle for each item you need, the purge(2 bottles if tub is over 500 gallons) the water treatment and the filter cleaner. The state that you rarley have to adjust the PH, that it will self adjust after a day or 2. Wonder what will happen to the PH if used daily and does not have time to "self" adjust?

All these questions....I would love to hear of others experiences
