Chemical dummy

We are having real trouble getting our PH stable.

I did a search of previous posts and I have a question.....

Sodium bicarbonate is baking soda...right?

So what is Sodium carbonate (soda ash) and what do I ask for to purchase it?

Thanks

You are correct.  Sodium bicarb is indeed baking soda.  It will affect total alkylinity as well as pH.

Sodiam Carbonate is sold by Spa chem manufaturers as pH Inrease or pH UP or something along those lines.  If your TA is good and your pH is low, you can use Sodium Carbonate.
