Cheat Bromine? causing a rash?
« on: September 04, 2006, 04:04:08 pm »
I've had my hottub now for better then 6 months and have had a rash every time I get into it...even after staying out for weeks.  I've changed the water a number of times, sanatized, and keep my bromine levels (and shocking routinely) up etc... Still develope a rash... Went to a local spa dealer who said its probably due to using a 'cheap grade of brome'.. I use the brand via walmart... Has anyone ever heard of such a think?  She claims she has had similar complaints from 'other customers' who use Walmart brand because of 'the filler'.... Hmmm... SOund like a line of BS to me... Any thoughts?

I haven't personally heard of it, but if the fillers ARE the cause and not the bromine....Brilliance has bromine granules (and a dispenser with a mesh sleeve). We use it, it seems to work very well, but then, I don't know if I'd be sensitive to the walmart stuff.....
Brilliance Sanitizer:
Active ingredients: 1, 3-dibromo-5, 5-dimethylhydantoin
Available percentage: 99.4%

Online they show "Leisure Time" products, but at our super-duper-huge-WallyWorld, that's not what they sell....go figure.
Best of luck!
