Catalina spas??
« on: March 16, 2006, 12:06:07 am »
I am new to this forum and I am also looking to purchase a new 2006 Catalina Santa cruz. It is the new style and they don,t even have it on their web site yet.
Just wanted to know if anyone had any info on this tub and if it is  a good choice. I think they call it the raptor or stealth.

Looks like a nice mold but it seems the majority of the 61 jets are small, bullet jets offering very little in the way of therapy. The idea of sitting in the lounger and staring directly at the filter doesn't appeal much to me. It also seems very weak in foot massage as well.

The one that I am thinking about getting is an 8foot model and they dont even have a photo of it yet. It will have fiber optics, waterfall, stainless jets, kenwood or sony stereo with subwoofer and amp, 5inch to 3inch cover and lifter, stairs, aroma, chem start pack and 2 inch pad for tub to sit on. plus full 5 year warranty besides stereo. It is my understanding that catalina prorates after 3yr but the dealer I am getting it from gives you full 5 100%.
any Idea on the price you should expect for this setup?

Well I do know one thing, you will pay about 20 X more for the stereo set up than buying your own. IMHO, paying big bucks for a spa stereo is silly and a total waste of money.

Wow, water treatment is STANDARD. Now that's impressive ;)

The moulded legs in the lounge are dead sexy! :-*  Big ol' juicy thigh receptacles.  Mmmmmm..........

I sure don't like the looks of that enema jet placement, though.

ask the dealer for a factory copy of the warranty.  i believe they are 5 years.  they used to prorate after 3 very heavily but i am pretty sure they have changed it to keep up with the industry.  they were getting killed in our area because of that proration.
