Marquis Reward - Stupid Question ?????
« on: January 18, 2006, 02:43:40 pm »
Hi posters - my first post
Proud owner of a Marquis Reward since November 05. My electricity supply is on a tariff called Economy 7 (don't know if you have similar in the US). Basically cost per unit overnight is a third of daytime cost.

The Reward filter cycle can be set to just run overnight (1Cn setting) and I want to use this to keep running costs down.
The stupid question - how does the tub know it's night time?
Is there a clock that is set somewhere under the cover, or is it assumed that it was installed during the day, and nighttime must be 12 hours after commissioning, and then triggers every 24 hours from then?

Hopefully someone will:-
a) Understand my badly described issue  ???
b) Provide an answer

Thanks in anticipation.
Phil

Hi

I think I understand. here in the States, some power companies offer a lower rate during non peak hours. This is a great time to run the dishwasher, and such as electricy costs significantly less.

I don't have a Marquis, but page 7 of the manual tells you how to set the clock and filter cycles:

Hope that helps....

Thanks for the quick reply Drewstar, but my control panel does not have a "clock" button.

In fact, totally different panel to that shown in the pdf at the end of your link. Mine is a Silver Anniversary Reward (according to Owners Manual)

Once again many thanks

on your model it will fliter  twice a day in 2, 4 or 6 hour increments ....if you start that the spa at 6 in the evening than it will cycle again at 6 in the morning ....I would recommend a setting of twice a day for 2 hours and than a clean cycle ( after use )....of 2 hours should keep your water nice and be most efficient ....

Can I just clarify your response. Us Brits can be a bit slow  ;)

If the tub is commissioned at 6pm, it will assume that 12 hours later is nighttime? Correct

it has an internal clock that runs in 12 hour cycles so if you start at 6 am than it will automatically repeat its cycle at 6 pm
