shutting down tub

Is there anything wrong with draining and shutting down the tub for a week ? We plan on a week vacation and it is time for a water change anyway , I just dont know if its a good idea to leave the left over water in the pump system for a weeks time. Any input would be helpful. This would prevent me from having my favorite neighbor putting in chems for the week.

One week this time of year should't be too bad.  For that short time, anything left in the pipes when you refill will easily be taken care of by a healthy shock on refilll.

When you get back you could also fill a little then drain again getting rid of the stale water.
