cover lifter

I am looking for a good deal on a cover lifter, I do not need the best, just one that will work well and not break on me, I am trying to get away as cheap as posable but I would like some input. I am not sure if it matters what tub I have but if so I have a hydropool 738. thanks for a wonderful site

There are multiple options but I'd suggest the Covermate I as a good lifter at a good price. I actually prefer the Covermate III on larger spas as its sturdier and makes opening a big cover noticeably easier but you've indicated price is paramount so I'd suggest the Covermate I.

If your dealer sells used/trade-ins and has one with a cover lifter make him an offer.  You never know.

Do you have to emply the tub to get a Coverlifter III under the tub?

ummmmmmm Bill? Are you thinking of the Covermate 2 Undermount ( http://www.rhtubs.com/coverlifts/cover-mate2.htm )? The covermate3 attaches to either the side of the spa or a deck. The covermate2 has optional undermounting brackets, and YES, you have to slightly lift the spa to slide them under. Installation instructions for the CM2 Undermount can be found here;
