WHat does your spouse think of this forum?
« on: November 13, 2004, 01:34:06 pm »
Some comments in the "quick-how to drain" thread inspired me to query:

What does your spouse think about this forum?

My wife has been quite jealous at times, she has also had a good chuckle or two, especially with the Happy/Sappy saga.

I  can tell Stuart has got himself in some doodoo much as I have.

My wife wonders WHY I spend so much time on the computer at this and Doc's site.

I've told her a couple of times with all that useless reality TV on, I don't enjoy TV anymore - I can't wait for this faze to be over.

But to be honest, sometimes I wonder why too!

At least she knows where I am.

I always have another program running minimized just in case she comes into my office at home. Click of a button, and I'm working HARD! ;D

Seriously though, it's all about balance. My workload has increased dramatically in the past few weeks and other than yesterday; I haven't had the chance to participate a whole bunch. When everyone is home, I choose to spend it with them and it's why the majority of my posts are late a night once everyone is gone to bed generally.

I find it a great place to come and although my post count doesn't indicate it, I've been posting here for over 3 years. Once I left because of the fact Jim was trying to destroy it and the other time was me changing something in my profile and something went terribly wrong! :)

I would guess I'd be closing in on 1500+ posts by now and I would be moderating!! ;D Damn Bill...I think he deleted my user name to get this great paying job instead of me! >:(

The bottom line is I tend to come here to offer help and guidance where I can, when in reality, I think I've learnt more than I've taught! ;D

My wife just usually calls me a dork, shakes her head and walks away.  ( its a unique relationship we share)

My husband sits at his computer across the room and he is on his Tampa Bay Bucs fourm and I'm on this one and another techie one.  Every once in awhile we banter back about a post someone does, have a laugh/giggle then put our noses back to our own screens.

Now that is a relationship!

My loving wife of only 23.5 years doesn't like forums, she prefers list servers so all the messages come to her. I started a hot tub owners group on yahoo groups before I found this place.  She occasionally might ask why I posted "that message" here and not on "our group" (not a shamless plug) Sometimes I do both.

BTW, Chas, you picked out that 25th anniversary gift yet?   I got us this.

Actually I just rented one cabin  for a week.   534 days to go!

I happen to know that she has no appreciation for looking at "porn of the vertically challenged".

Oh you meant calling me a dork.     ;)

I'm building her a house in the mountains. From the look of it, we may not have it done by the 25th, but we're sure trying!!
I find it comes in real handy, even though it's not built yet: "honey, we'll need a four-wheel drive vehicle with a big V8 to get up the drive in winter!!"

"Honey, I don't want to have to spend our first weekend together learning how to program the home theater stuff - we better get it now so I can familiarize myself with it. "

"Honey, I'm just thinking of you: we're going to need to update the computer network so we can get some work done while we're relaxing.."

This basically explains my husband and I.  He is usually at FatWallet.com trying to find good deals on stuff we don't need!  LOL!  He is the main reason I am here.  He found this forum and suggested I read up on information.  He is so smart!  (Just don't tell him I said so!)

SEE! I knew he deleted my user name to keep my post-count down for a reason... >:(

And to think that I could have had one of those in MY back yard... :-[
