double checking the temperature
« on: February 25, 2018, 07:31:48 pm »
Hello everyone,

I suspect my tub is running cool. Is there a way to double check the temperature of the water. I would think I could just use a household thermometer, but I just thought I'd ask here in case I'm missing something those of you in the industry understand. All I understand is my console says 104, but it feels more like 101. The tub was bought new in May 2017.

Thanks!
Vanessa

Those floating thermometers are not always accurate. Use a medical grade thermometer to get a precise temp

If its not a windy day, I set my tub to 99 and put my hand in it.   Your body has easily detect a degree or two.   I've found after 15 years of hottubing, I can accurately tell a tub's temp to within .5F if there is no wind.   Your judgement may be right.
