It helps with water maintenance. Works better when used with ozone. The bulb needs to be replaced yearly. It's not a substitute for chemicals by any means. It's not any better then anybody else's systems and wouldn't factor into whether I would buy a tub or not buy the tub

I'm not sure how much good it'll do you but there's nothing "bad" about it, I'd just ignore it when making my decision and instead pay more attention to how the spa wet tests, how much you like the dealer, what kind of deal you can get...
