Question about replacing a skirt
« on: June 24, 2016, 05:28:37 pm »
Hi All,
This is my first posting. I plan a major renovation of my 20 year old Jacuzzi Z-110 spa. I'm going to completely rebuild it, replacing all the hoses that are now blackened by bromine. I'm also going to move the pump,  heater and control box outside of the tub enclosure so that the new enclosure will only be piping and insulation. Lot's of insulation.

Here's my question. Examining my spa it appears that the weight of the tub is carried by the tub's floor and not the lip of the tub. Is this a correct assumption? I need to know this because I'm not sure if the replacement skirt will be load-bearing or not. Thanks.
