I have a 2007 hot springs envoy and need to replace the heater relay board. I wanted to see how difficult this would be to do and if its something I could do on my own.

I have replaced hundreds, sad to say. But I don't recommend it as a DIY project. The power block, where the incoming wires connect is easy once you have done one, but the first timer usually damages the thing, or leaves a wire loose (fire hazard).

If you dealer will show you how to do it in-store, you should be fine, but don't try this at home.

It was my electrician's first time on a hot springs hot tub. And I think he messed up my board. He had done other hut tubs but not a HS. I'm going to have the local dealer come over and replace the board. :-)

That is by far the best bet. You can watch him to see how to do it, but ironically: the new board design seems to work fine. I have not replaced a single one of the new type of boards, and they have been out for several years now.

What about as far as heaters. Do you much problem with the actual heater itself?

The original, black "No fault 6000" was a loser. It was upgraded (some had bad internal connections), but by now most all of those have been replaced. If you have that heater, I would replace it. But the newer designs, still called by the same name, but with silver-colored tubes, are fine. They will go and go...

Hmm. My Envoy is a 2007. Are those using the better heaters?

If not not biggy. It's working fine now. No reason to replace it if it isn't broken.

And what about pumps? So those do ok?

This is my first hot tub and just what to make sure I won't be having to start replacing thing now. :-)

It's a 2007 envoy.

Awesome. I guess that means I have one of the heaters that's bad, huh? It's on its 6th year and still heating strong. Maybe I got lucky you think?

By the way, it looks like 2004 was when they switched to a new heater that is working well so I should be all good with the 2007 version right?
