Mold problems
« on: January 06, 2013, 03:38:15 pm »
I had my hot tub winterized by a professional company when we moved. I explained to him that I probably wouldn't be using this for a year or 2. It has been in my garage and I just opened up the cover to take some pictures and I see black and white mold spots inside it. How can I clean this and do you think it is ruined.

Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

Simple solution.  mix water and chlorine bleach 50 50, and use a brush to rinse down the shell, and or cover to eleiminate the mold.  When the tub is filled and the pumps are started, you are going to get some ugly stuff coming out of the internal plumbing also.

If the water had been chlorinated prior to draining the spa, it would have eliminated, or at leaset minimized, the problem, but then if you do it "just before" draining, the chlorine can kill the grass.
Trying to be the unbaised voice of reason.
