Hot tub temps

Hello,
We are shopping for a new hot tub. 104 seems not very hot to us...any way to make it hotter?? considering Caldera, Artesian, hotsprings. Thanks in advance. Aleif
PS Have used spas at resorts...much hotter than 104 F  8-)

Part of the problem is the American Heart Association doesn't recommend going above 104 degrees.

Also, UL doesn't allow temps above 104.  I know the manufacturers used to get around this by having a way to go up in temp, but didn't show the actual temp on the control panel.  For instance, Hot Spring's control panel used to show UT 1, UT 2, etc.  That basically meant 1 degree above 104 or 2 degrees above 104 up to a maximum of about 107 degrees.

They can't do that any longer.  That is why you are having issues finding temps above 104.  Spas at resorts shouldn't really let you get much above 104 either.  They're just opening themselves up for a law suit.

I think you'll find 104 very hot when you are in for awhile.

Yea, if you plan on being in more than 5 minutes, 104 is enough for us.  We keep ours at 102 in the summer months.

     I can get my Caldera Aspire up to 108. Just like Vanguard said, after 104 ,the display shows uf1, uf2, uf3 & uf4. (the f is upsidedown). When I first came acoss this I did not know what it was. No mention of it in my owners manual but after setting it at the different displays the water temp went up. I love my tub at 104, keep it at that temp most of the time but when I know it is going to be really cold(15 deg F or colder) I set it for 108.
