Blaster 1000 Filter Cleaner An Good?
« on: February 25, 2008, 05:49:40 pm »
Has anyone used the Blaster 1000 Filter Cleaner?  It caught my eye while looking for chemicals and I think I want one, but I hate to spend the money if it really does not work that well.

Video and specs:

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

Doc sells a similar device at www.rhtubs.com.  Apparantly that one works well.

Doc sells the same one.
Not a mountain lake? Then it's still a chemical soup!

I always question automatic filter cleaners that "push" the dirt back into the pleats as opposed to pressure washing it from the opposite direction in which it entered the filter... That's what I would develope personally...

I know what you mean.  The video demo looks like something you would see at a State Fair or on an Info-mercial at 1:00am.
Just for fun I thought I would try to build a wand out of 3/4 pvc with small holes drilled in it that I could put down the center of the filter to blow the grime out from the inside.  It kind of worked, just awkward to hold, and hard to stay dry.  I think I am just going to order the thing, if it does not work well I guess I can always use it as a $100 Sprinkler!
