Are the Great Lakes tubs good quality?

Anyone have one or heard if they're good or bad? I've found that the parts they use are pretty common so they would be easy to get parts. Thanks.

This is my friend's 6 year old Great Lakes Manitou, which they now call the Forte, I believe.  He recentely purchased it used. He likes it, but I told him to be prepared for the winter public service bills as there is no insulation in it.

I originally looked at Great Lakes as well due to their price, but once I looked at them up close I knew it wasn't for me and the harsh Upper Michigan winters.  We ended up with a HotSpring Jetsetter and absolutely love it! (and the low energy bills too!)

I think that spa ate it self i think if more people seen them like that,they would never get into it.

Getting back to the original question...

Great Lakes used to be a nice entry to mid range spa.  Family owned, made in Michigan.  They did what they were supposed to do.  No, they arent fully insulated, but that may or may not be an issue depending on where you live.  True spa professionals have gerally considered them to be "OK".

However...

Great Lakes has recently sold to Emerald Spa (which is also located in Michigan).  I have not heard any feedback yet if that has increasedd or decreased any quality etc...
