Marquis Epic/circulation question
« on: June 16, 2007, 07:04:53 pm »
What is the normal circulation/filter time on the Epic?  I know it comes set from the factory.  Is it four hours a day, two hours at a time?  And if so, do I need to change it to more circ time if we use it frequently?
Also, I'm getting a musty smell in the water, but the water is clear and all the levels seem right.  Any suggestions?
Thanks!

From the factory it is programmed to come on for 2 hours every 10 hours, so a total of 4 hours in 24 hours.  It also does a 1 hour SmartClean filter cycle after each use.

So...5 hours of filtering in a day x 80 gallons per minute x 60 minutes in an hour = 24,000 gallons

So I guess you're saying I don't need to change it to filter more?

It does come down to use, what I recommend for most people is that if you leave the default filtering time to the twice a day for 2 hours, bump the clean up cycle to  2 hours since this is when any spa will be its dirtiest after it has been used. And also it basically helps to compensate for the heavier use as well.
