Vita Spa's are owned by Maxx Spas. They share a lot of the same technology. They are not one of my top choices but they don't suck either.

My top choices are Hot Springs/Caldera, Sundance and Artesian. Most Maxx Spas use perimeter insulation. I'm not in the camp where this is better than full foam. They are usually easier to work on but they are not as well insulated as a full foam tub.

More important is the dealer support. If your dealer sucks, your service will suck. Warranty is covered by the dealer. It's very necessary to ask the dealer questions about warranty and if possible, speak to others who have bought from the dealer.

Just visited a dealer that carries Hot Springs spas. Was shown an Envie spa from Vita spas. Never heard of this company before. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

are you still in the hot tub industry steve?  i liked reading the exploits of you originals back in the day, like term from texas.  the super custom fallsburg spa was always good to elicit some fun give and take.

Your meter does Chlorine, Alkalinity and PH.

Bromine is read under the CL reading which is why it says to take the free chlorine reading and multiply by 2.2. Bromine does need to be in a higher concentration.

I have a cedar hot tub and bought a Aquachek meter to read levels. Iam using bromine cause I read it was better for the cedar wood. The meter has CL, PH and ALK on the screen for readings. What are my bromine levels supposed to be and under what space should it be CL or ALK? The paper said it supposed to read bromine and booklet says to multiply free chlorine by 2.2

Bromine is 40% chlorine in most instances and often skin irritations are moreso due to pH than the sanitizer. Could also be a heat rash? When it comes to skin issues, I always recommend a doctor over us spa pros!

Your foundation is extremely important, so concrete is best since it's more resilient and stable. But if you properly do crushed stone and sand (just like what you would do for a slab) then put EZ Pads or pavers you should be good as well. You want to avoid unlevel settling.

Many old cheaper tubs have/had open bottoms and use wood frames so you definitely want a properly made slab for that.
